Free billing counter (POS) for your shop
Bill a customer in a few seconds: type or scan the item, take cash or show a UPI QR, see the change to give back, and print a thermal receipt. It works on a phone, tablet or computer, offline too, with no login and no monthly fee.
How to make a bill here
- Set up your shop once. Open "Shop details and bill settings": shop name, address, state, phone and GSTIN if you have one. Add your UPI ID so a QR code can show at the counter. Choose the bill type: tax invoice, bill of supply (composition) or cash memo.
- Add items. Type part of the name or the barcode in the search box and tap the item, or press Enter. A USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works like a keyboard, so a scan adds the item at once. On an Android phone, "Scan with camera" reads barcodes too.
- Adjust quantity. Use − and + on a line, or type the quantity (1.5 for one and a half kilo). Scanning the same item again adds one more.
- Take the money. Pick Cash, UPI or Card. For cash, type what the customer gives you and the change shows in large letters. For UPI, a QR code with the exact amount appears for the customer to scan.
- Save and print. "Save and print" saves the bill, opens the print window for your thermal printer and gets the counter ready for the next customer. "Save, next customer" skips printing.
- Close the day. "Today’s sales" shows how many bills you made and the money taken by cash, UPI and card, so you can match the cash drawer.
What it does for you
- Fast counter screen: one search box for names and barcodes, big buttons, and change worked out for you.
- Prices with GST inside: type the shelf price; the bill shows the taxable value, CGST and SGST worked out from it, with a GST summary by rate.
- Right bill title: TAX INVOICE when you are registered, BILL OF SUPPLY under composition (with the required line), CASH MEMO when you are not registered.
- Thermal rolls and paper: 80 mm and 58 mm receipts, or A5 and A4 sheets for a customer who wants a full bill.
- Remembers your items: every item you bill is saved with its barcode, price and GST rate, and comes back as a suggestion next time, in every Nivesh Sahayak tool.
- Counts in your books: each bill is a paid sale in the free Nivesh Sahayak App, with cash and UPI kept apart for the cash book and bank.

Guides
Questions people ask
Is this POS billing free?
Yes. Billing, saving, printing and sharing are free, with no login, no limit on bills and no monthly fee. A small line at the bottom of the receipt says where it was made.
Does it work with a barcode scanner?
Yes. A USB or Bluetooth scanner types the code and Enter into the search box, which adds the item at once. On Android, "Scan with camera" uses the phone camera in Chrome or Edge.
Can it print on my thermal printer?
Yes, 80 mm and 58 mm rolls, plus A5 and A4. In the print window set Margins to None and untick Headers and footers. See thermal receipt printer.
My shelf prices include GST. Is the bill still correct?
Yes. Keep "Prices include GST" ticked: the bill shows the taxable value and CGST/SGST worked out from your price. See prices including GST.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Once the page has opened, billing, saving and printing work offline. Bills are kept in the browser on that device.
Can two counters share one series?
Not live: each browser keeps its own bills. Use one device per counter, or give each counter its own prefix under My data › Settings. Bring bills together with a backup file.
Do I need a tax invoice for every small sale?
A registered shop may skip it for sales under ₹200 to an unregistered buyer who does not ask, but must then make one consolidated invoice each day. Numbering every bill is simpler. See GST bill for a retail shop.
Where do my bills go?
Into this browser on this device, shared with the other Nivesh Sahayak tools through my.niveshsahayak.in. They also show as paid sales in the free Nivesh Sahayak App. Nothing is sent to us.
